Explorers are for exciting young people aged 14-18. They carry scouting towards adulthood. 

Groups of Explorers are called units. There are 6 Explorer units across Kentdale and the unit based in Kirkby Lonsdale is called Aluna Explorers. Aluna meets each Wednesday and at other events and camps. Meetings are a mixture of games, fun challenges and developing #SkillsForLife from the Young Leader Award and Duke of Edinburgh requirements. All to help them conquer the small task of changing the world. Explorers take a more active role in planning their program with support from the leaders.

Young Leaders are Explorers or DofE volunteers who help with our younger sections. With training and support they can develop from doing the drinks to running a whole meeting under the leader's supervision. Explorers are a go-getting group of young people aged 14-18. Together, they make up the fifth section of the Scouts.
